I’m incredibly sad about leaving the film show and it wasn’t an easy decision.

Daisy has, however, found a way to honour him as she took to the red carpet at the launch.

Balls, 49, who was MP for Morley and Outwood, said: “I’m not wearing any sequins, and no glitter, it’s all very classical”.

“I want to discover how to use my upper body because with my radical mastectomy I had to remove my lats completely from the bone and attach them to the front, so when I move my back, [my chest] moves”, she said. I was hoping, and they went ‘and finally. “I’d quite like to dance to some of his favourite songs, too”, she continued.

The model says she is also grateful to her Strictly “family” – with Louise Redknapp in particular helping her through the hard time.

Daisy also praised her fellow “Strictly” contestant Louis Redknapp for comforting her following Eddie’s sudden death.

“I’ll make it work, ” she said.

Mr Balls, 49, who lost his Morley and Outwood seat in May previous year in one of the greatest casualties of the 2015 election admitted that his wife, MP Yvette Cooper, encouraged him to take part in the show in the hope it would help him lose weight.

Anastacia – who will donate her show fee to charity – was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 but it returned ten years later, leading her to have a radical mastectomy. She said, ‘You’d best stay in to do that tango’. My grandma has never missed an episode.
