Dak Prescott on Dez Bryant: We’ll make that connection

The answer to the first question is “maybe”. In a game that was dominated by the Dallas Cowboys as far as time-of-possession, the Giants were able to pull through on the back of quarterback Eli Manning who threw for three touchdown passes. It is important to remember that the Cowboys were out of timeouts. If Williams cut out of bounds, or if this same game was played against a team with a quarterback who had a season or two under his belt; would the Giants have yet a fourth quarter lead erased to open the year?

Despite a 20-19 losing effort against the division-rival New York Giants on Sunday, Prescott turned in a solid performance in his first career National Football League start.

With new head coach Ben McAdoo calling the shots, the Giants did not disappoint their rookie head coach.

What they’re sayingDRC ” I was telling myself that I can’t let him get out of bounds. They played a lot of plays tonight.

“Just elated in that moment”, he said. A few more seconds and we all would be singing a different tune. It prevented the Cowboys from attempting a long field goal.

Two years ago, which is the Golden Age of the Garrett era, the Cowboys lost their second opener and won their next six games on their way to a 12-4 finish.

Terrance Williams can explain. Throughout the preseason, he downplayed the running woes, saying things would work out once the offense started game planning and unit was on the field for more than a quarter. As great as he is, Bailey is probably not making that kick.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Cowboys were hoping the team wouldn’t miss a beat with Prescott under center instead of Romo.

“We had Jackrabbit travel with him”.

“We’ve been in that situation a lot, and his instinct took him inside”. I wanted to obviously do the dance and make sure I got that down pat, and just celebrate with my teammates.

“I was disappointed near the end that we didn’t get them out”.

The significance for Cruz went beyond just the victory. “Looking back, I’ll never do that again”. After tossing the coin, Bush grabbed the FDNY cap off the head of NY linebacker Zak DeOssie.

Still, the lack of awareness from Williams couldn’t have come at a worse time. I also have coached CYO basketball for roughly 20 years.

You can see the final play in the clip below.

Asked to assess his debut, Elliott said: “I think I was average, you know. We just have to score touchdowns down there in the red zone”. In this case, the first down Williams said he was seeking was inconsequential.
