Dalai Lama remains at Mayo Clinic for evaluation
ROCHESTER, Minn. (AP) – The Dalai Lama plans a private audience with members of Minnesota’s Tibetan community on Wednesday in the same city where he has been receiving medical attention since last week. No other information has been released.

The statement from the Office of Tibet said that His Holiness had been told to rest for several weeks, though it did not say that he is ill. CU spokesman Ryan Huff said in a statement that the university was heartbroken hearing the news that the Dalai Lama’s health would not allow him to visit Boulder.
The Dalai Lama had been scheduled to make two appearances at the University of Colorado on October 20 and 21. Despite his age, the Dalai Lama maintains a rigorous travel schedule. “You’re joking”. The 14th Dalai Lama replied “no, true”. The first was an event open only to students, faculty and staff, and the second appearance was a public teaching and talk on training the mind and compassion. Lama said we would create more Bin Ladens by doing so.
The Tibetan spiritual leader, a self-declared feminist, stunned a BBC interviewer by saying that any female successor – or reincarnation – would be unsuitable if she was ugly.
Women’s equality campaigners said the Dalai Lama’s remarks were disappointing, according to a Guardian report. He is a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, for his nonviolent advocacy for the Tibetan people. “And we all know he needed a rest”.

The Office of Tibet has offered to try and reschedule the visit, but there is not confirmation at this point that the event has been rescheduled.
