Officials with Google Fiber on Tuesday announced they’re exploring the possibility of adding Dallas to the list of cities served. Yesterday, the search engine giant announced plans to work closely with the city’s mayor and several other local leaders to find out whether launching Fiber Internet and TV service in Dallas is feasible. “It will mean new ways for families to stay in touch and stream their favorite shows, and new opportunities for businesses-especially businesses in Dallas’ budding tech sector-to grow and be more productive”, a part of the post read.
Furthermore, the Fiber service is now being deployed n four more cities – San Antonio, Huntsville, Ala., San Francisco and Raleigh-Durham, N.C. – with another 12 metro areas, including Dallas, being potential sites for the Fiber rollout. The service is live in just five cities: Provo, Nashville, Atlanta, Kansas City, and as mentioned above, Austin – all of which have populations below the one million mark.
Google Fiber is considering bringing its fiber optic network to Dallas.
Currently, Austin has Google Fiber and San Antonio is in the works.. While it’s still unclear when people will have access to it in that city, construction finally began for it this past April. Google admits that bringing Fiber to Dallas would be a big undertaking.

The addition of Fiber broadband would not only benefit Dallas residents who opt for Goggle.
