Dallas Cowboys hoping Dak Prescott becomes the next Tom Brady

While Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett would never move off his day-to-day time frame for quarterback Tony Romo and the fractured bone in his back, the most hopeful prognosis in the organization had him missing the first six games of the season with a return after the bye. The young quarterback would make his first National Football League start in the second week of the 2014 season with the Rams, as he replaced injured starter Shaun Hill.

In a recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Movin’ The Chains show, Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones revealed that the team’s trainer, Mike Woicik, thinks that their rookie quarterback has the qualities of the New England Patriots superstar. It will be tough for this team to do much worse than they did then. The Cowboys open the 2016 season on September 11 against the New York Giants. “We’ll be needing to make that decision obviously sometime later in the weekend”.

Jones has no doubt Romo will return this season. They view him as a possible option to serve as Prescott’s backup while Romo is out, a source said, rather than just an extra body to get through the final preseason game. And we all know about the Cowboys’ looooooonng history of losing when the backup quarterback is thrust into the starting role year after year when Romo routinely breaks his back bending over to tie his shoes in the morning. “We’ve really done a lot of research on this, and it was a very freak accident”.

If Prescott impresses, the Cowboys likely will not be in the rush they were previous year to get Romo back into the game.

I think everybody’s excited about it. “But it may be that we just keep him on the roster. But the reality is, Tony’s going to come back for us and play great, we believe. But I can tell you this time we’re not going to be sitting around worrying when Tony gets back.We gotta have a game plan to beat the Giants, and to win every game without him”.
