Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo Has Broken Back
It looks as if the Giants will usher in the Dak Prescott era with the Cowboys, as yet another injury to Tony Romo has Prescott, an unheralded rookie from Mississippi State, very much in line to start the September 11 regular-season opener at AT&T Stadium.

Per sources, Romo is expected to be sidelined 6 to 10 weeks, though coach Jason Garrett refused to put a timetable on his return.
The Dallas Cowboys will not have Tony Romo to open the 2016 National Football League season.
An MRI on Friday revealed Romo’s back injury is much worse than anticipated, Garrett announced Saturday, two days after he was knocked out of the game against the Seattle Seahawks. Later, Romo said he was OK. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback was taken out during a preseason game on August 25 and fans feared he had suffered a nasty injury.
It turns out Cowboys fans were right to feel terrified after Tony Romo injured his back during a preseason game against the Seahawks on Wednesday.
The San Francisco 49ers face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4 of the 2016 season, and there is a decent chance they will be facing Dak Prescott and not Tony Romo.
“If you guys remember, he has played with fractures in his back before”, Garrett said, referring to Romo’s quick return from a small fracture in his back in 2014. This would be a prime spot for Romo to return against hated Philadelphia on primetime television in late October.

Dallas starts their season with back-to-back divisional games against the Giants and Redskins. Prescott, a fourth-round pick in April’s draft, has been extremely impressive thus far in the preseason going 39-50 with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Finally, last season Romo twice broke his collarbone and played in only four games. The team will now rely on rookie QB Dak Prescott.
