Dallas Cowboys Still Think They Can Make the Playoffs
But that fact fades in the, ah, glow of playing in the NFC Least, er, East. Both the Colts and Houston Texans have picked up their play of late, and now, it might be the NFC East that is the weakest division in football top-to-bottom. Dallas slinks to the cellar of the NFC East and the Redskins make more headway toward a playoff spot behind a confident Kirk Cousins. The only blowouts were against the New England Patriots (when Brandon Weeden was still with the team) and to the Carolina Panthers, Romo’s second game since his return, throwing three interceptions and re-injuring the collarbone. Surgery is not expected.

“Cassel is clearly capable of winning us a game”, defensive tackle Jeremy Mincey said. So, the opportunity to start at quarterback on Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys is – to say that it would be a dream come true wouldn’t be true because I don’t know that I dreamed that it would happen. If you want to gamble on his backup, look at Terrance West. He ripped off a couple nice runs Monday night and could find the end zone in the last month of the season.
“I think it has a little extra meaning for everybody”. Erase one disastrous play in each game and a Dallas win was the likely outcome.
“I said another [thing]: If you trust the man next to you, the job is gonna get done”, Jean Francois said. “What they thought about the team, where we were at and what we needed to do to progress. All we’ve just got to do is actually display it and actually believe in it”. Will we be looking to develop and get talent behind Romo?
But Gruden is curious how his team handles its recent success.
Morris averages only 3.6 yards per carry, but he’s also the best bet to produce 60 yards or more. Every team in the division felt like a playoff team at times this season, but each squad also looked deserving of a high draft pick at other times.
Outside of 7-4 Green Bay, the other four remaining games are against teams with a combined 16-17 record. But it’s too soon to get ahead of themselves. I mean, historically, ” Gruden said. “Now it’s just a matter of maintaining our focus and our work. We have a lot of leaders in this locker room now, which is good”.
-PASSING OFFENSE: B. Kirk Cousins put together a solid showing against NY.
Cousins was 20 of 29 for 302 yards with a 63-yard touchdown to DeSean Jackson last Sunday.
Cousins has only been sacked 11 times and wasn’t dropped last week.
-Running back Matt Jones had a 45-yard reception on a screen pass Sunday against the New York Giants. ODB finished his day hauling in 9 of 18 targets for 142 yards and a touchdown. He has completed 58 percent of his passes for 668 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions. In four games back from injury, Jackson has 12 catches for 212 yards and two scores. The Redskins are vulnerable to outside runs, but that’s not the Giants’ strength save Shane Vereen.
After missing most of last season because of a torn Achilles tendon and multiple nagging injuries this year, including a plantar plate tear in his right foot, Hall is right where he tought he would be. But otherwise the Redskins’ coverage units are coming into their own. The Washington Redskins have only two more wins than Dallas and their weakness on defense is Dallas’ strength on offense. Graham Gano nailed four field goals in the win.

It doesn’t help that the Redskins’ road opponents have been some of the toughest in the league.
