Dallas Morning News endorses Clinton, first Democrat in 75 years
In late July, another prominent Texas newspaper with a history of conservative political endorsements – the Houston Chronicle – also made headlines when it endorsed Clinton and labeled Trump a “danger to the Republican Party” in an op-ed.

It comes as Trump and Clinton ready for a Commander-in-Chief Town Hall on NBC and as both campaigns issued letters with endorsements from military leaders.
His comments came following a town hall earlier Tuesday in Virginia Beach, Va., where Trump again noted his opposition to a regime change in Syria from its current president Bashar al-Assad.
“Hillary Clinton put her emails on a secret server nobody knew about except for the man that was given the fifth”, he continued, referring to Clinton’s former IT aide who has invoked his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to talk.
He also said that he likes that Johnson and his running mate Bill Weld have the most governing experience, and that they have good records of balancing the budget and bringing bipartisanship to their respective states.
And while Clinton’s super PACs have steadily raised checks of unlimited size and deployed their substantial resources on swing-state television, Trump’s are still sputtering, failing to reel in large checks and ceding television airwaves for much of the summer to Clinton allies.
But the Morning News has endorsed every Republican presidential candidate since 1968, when Richard Nixon faced off against Democrat Hubert Humphrey.
Fifty-five percent of active and former military members support Trump, while 36 percent back Clinton.
Roughly a third of Americans, or 31%, say Clinton is the worst Democratic nominee in 40 years, with just 3% saying she’s the best. “Can he handle having his finger on the big red button?'” Yepsen said. “She has my vote in November”.
Trump’s engagement with the Middle East, by contrast, would be to work with governments even if they were not necessarily strong on democracy, his senior aide said. Together, Kaine said, the pair would make a president and vice president who are informed and well-versed in foreign policy.
“I just don’t think she has a presidential look and you need a presidential look”, Trump said about Clinton on ABC News Tuesday.
