The Detroit Red Wings fell behind 2-0 in the first period and never recovered in a 4-1 loss to Dallas Sunday afternoon at Joe Louis Arena.

After the whistle was blown, Howard was evaluated on the ice and later taken out of the game to be replaced by Petr Mrazek.
I didn’t think that the Red Wings played well enough today to win.

It’s simple, really, the strategy that coach Jeff Blashill believes will set the Detroit Red Wings on the course toward more goals per game. Blashill said Howard was fine, and wanted to return to the game. Tyler Seguin (18:52) and Cody Eakin (19:41) scored empty-net goals to seal the outcome.
