Dan Mullen, Mississippi State used to lack of respect | UK Football
Prescott was a top Heisman contender for a while in 2014.

Mullen hopes he can find a few more Prescotts.
Heading into his senior season, Prescott considers it a lesson learned. The people only seemed interested in Prescott; they didn’t care to schmooze with Kessler or Hackenberg, leaving Prescott’s pals feeling snubbed.
“They don’t see the people I work out with every day”, Prescott said. “I guess it was thrown around last year as a dark horse, but for it to be more prominent this year is just humbling”. Auburn and Mississippi State both finished the season with consecutive defeats. Past year gave me a taste of what we can do and what I can do. “Life’s changed completely”.
It’s the Mississippi State way. A 2008 Gators national championship prompted Mullen’s jump to Mississippi State where he’s been since.
“The games we lost last season, a lot of it had to do with red zone offense in key moments”, Mullen said. The Bulldogs signed seven players this past February and with the totals of the previous two years, they now have 14 Alabama signees in the last 3 years alone.
“It is an unreal luxury and comfort going into a season”.
Many chalked up Mississippi State’s brief stint in the limelight as nothing more than a mirage.
One reporter asked Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen about the topic on Tuesday. “It just left a sour taste in my mouth”. We didn’t play with the same intensity we had to get to No. 1. “I think the SEC West will be as competitive as ever”.
While several preseason publications list Prescott as the top returning quarterback in the SEC, most don’t expect the Bulldogs to challenge in the super-competitive SEC West division.
Mississippi State was picked to finish 10th last season before climbing to No. 1 in the rankings. Gone are 1,000-yard rusher Josh Robinson, All-America linebacker Benardrick McKinney and a host of other key names.
In the afternoon session, it wasn’t what came out of Dan Mullen’s mouth that made waves but what he was wearing on his feet.

“We started off slow in that (Alabama) game, working ourselves out of a hole”. Moreover, according to Mullen, 52 players boast significant in-game experience.
