Earlier this month, Fox denied that Kelly’s time off was related to Trump.

The state GOP in South Carolina says a candidate cannot be on the ballot for the Presidential primary unless he or she agrees not to run as a third party. “Was afraid to confront Dr. Cornel West. No clue on immigration!”, read one tweet.
Trump and Fox News president Roger Ailes had reportedly cleared the air after the first wave of the fighting began, but by Tuesday afternoon, the channel executive released a statement, signaling the detente was over.
Trump sounded off on both Ailes and Kelly in a recent Hollywood Reporter cover story, where he admitted that he believes in apologizing – but doesn’t remember the last time he did it.
Fox News strikes back with a statement from Ailes saying that Trump’s attack of Kelly was “unprovoked”, “crude”, and “disturbing.” Ailes says Trump should apologize.
As the Washington Post“s Greg Sargent noted yesterday, “Kelly is absolutely right to note, in the context of the birthright citizenship debate, that Trump has answered questions “explicitly, ‘ while Cruz won’t”.
Trump tweeted, “I liked The Kelly File much better without @megynkelly”. The controversial candidate added that hopefully in the future she proves him wrong and elevates to a level of professionalism that the channel deserves. “Blood coming out of her-wherever”, he told CNN a day after the debate. Brian Kilmeade also said that his latest comments bothered him personally.
Trump, meanwhile, has continued targeting Kelly, even after he had reportedly made peace with Fox News.
Kelly then asked for his views of the 14th Amendment’s birthright clause, and bluntly: “If you have a husband and a wife who are illegal immigrants and they have two children who are here, who are American citizens, would you deport all of them?” “We have never been deterred by politicians or anyone else attacking us for doing our job, much less allowed ourselves to be bullied by anyone and we’re certainly not going to start now”.
Kelly’s colleague Bret Baier tweeted “this needs to stop”.
“That actually bothers me personally”, Kilmeade said.
He may be limited to 140 characters, but Donald Trump’s Twitter war knows no bounds.
