Dan Stevens to Star Opposite Anne Hathaway in ‘Colossal’

Stevens will no play the ex who, though he originally dumps her like week old trash, fights to win back the young womans affections. It’s pretty rad. And star Dan Stevens does an excellent job in the movie and that’s why I’m excited to see his name attached to a new high profile film.

Former Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens has been cast in Colossal alongside Anne Hathaway and Jason Sudeikis, his publicist confirmed to EW. The film has been described as “Godzilla meets Lost in Translation”. It’s there that she finds out that she has a few kind of psychic link to a enormous monster that is terrorizing Seoul. In order to prevent further destruction, Gloria needs to determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world. In addition to his recent workload, Disney announced he’ll be the Beast in the upcoming live-action Beauty and the Beast, opposite Emma Watson, Ian McKellen and Ewan McGregor (just to name a few co-stars).

In the absence of his ex, Steven’s currently unnamed character realises he wants her back but now has to compete with a gargantuan lizard that she believes is being controlled by aspects of her mental breakdown. Look for it to hit theaters March 17, 2017.

Production is underway right now on Colossal, the next film from Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Open Windows, Extraterrestrial).
