Dana White Confirms Holly Holm To Defend Title Before Ronda Rousey Rematch

Holm surprised UFC fans when she defeated long-time champion Rousey last November 14, 2015 after a series of well-timed strikes and a head kick to finish it off.

While the former UFC bantamweight champion’s face is not in the frame, a tattoo believed to be Rousey’s trademark wrist inking is visible on the model’s wrist.

UFC star Ronda Rousey, who recently had a loss to Holly Holm in Australia that caused an alleged hard hit to Las Vegas’ sports books is making a come back to somewhat make you forget about her loss.

White had speculated that a rematch between Rousey and Holm could generate two million pay-per-view buys, but would people be as interested in the fight if Holm lost her title before then?

She will become the first MMA fighter and just the third fighter to host the show, following ex-boxing middleweight champion Marvelous Marvin Hagler and former undisputed heavyweight champion George Foreman.

Holm also agreed to a recent contract extension with the UFC.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue editor M.J. Day teased Rousey’s inclusion in the body paint feature on Wednesday, posting a photo of her, as yet unidentified, body painted posterior to Instagram with the hashtag #instabooty.

As for Ronda Rousey and her schedule for 2016: We know that she has a rematch with Holly Holm at UFC 200 sometime in July. One thing is for sure, though: White definitely wants Rousey-Holm II – whenever it takes place – to be a title match.

Holm signed with UFC in July previous year.

According to Dana White, however, they have yet to determine who Holm will go up against next. Responding via text message to Yahoo Sports for further clarification, White didn’t say much else.

And it’s a choice that Holm’s manager, Lenny Fresquez, would be on board with: speaking to Washington Post in December, Fresquez said that Miesha would make a good opponent for Holm.
