Ronda Rousey will get a straight title fight against newly minted bantamweight champion Miesha Tate according to UFC president Dana White.

The reigning champion dominated the standup exchanges for the next couple of rounds but “Cupcake” came out with fire in her belly at the last and got the finish.

“I want to fight Miesha tomorrow”, Holm said. Tate can punch with Rousey, and she will be at peak confidence against a fighter coming off as bad a loss as they get. Tate had attempted to win the title several times against former champion Rhonda Rousey. It was understood that a life-changing payday in a rematch against Rousey awaited Holm if got past Tate. However, Tate woke up one day and turned on “Good Morning America” to discover White made a decision to pull her from the bout in favor of Holm.

However, White said he had not heard from Rousey, who has defeated Tate twice by armbar, about a third meeting with Tate, only that he had exchanged texts with Rousey about the Holm-Tate fight. I still feel UFC 200 is there for me. She has fought Tate on two previous occasions, winning both contests by submission. I thought I had to be like a pit bull with a bone (with the choke). I’ll keep my ear to the ground and see who the fans want to see the most. “That’s what’s going to happen”, White said.

Holm failed to successfully defend her women’s bantamweight title in the process in front of a packed out MGM Grand Audience – months after beating Ronda Rousey. White said Rousey claimed she didn’t watch the fights on Saturday, but her response to the result was “back to work for me” .
