Dana White says Holly Holm will fight someone else before Rousey rematch
UFC President Dana White appeared on UFC tonight Wednesday and he announced officially that Holm will indeed defend her women’s bantamweight belt before the gives Rousey a shot at getting her crown back.

Holm surprised UFC fans when she defeated long-time champion Rousey last November 14, 2015 after a series of well-timed strikes and a head kick to finish it off.
She’s got some film projects that may be in production soon and there’s talk of her returning this summer to fight Holly Holm.
Holly Holm has signed a contract extension with the UFC according to her manager. Yahoo Sports is reporting that UFC superstar Ronda Rousey has been tapped to host on January 23.
Aside from her stint as host of Saturday Night Live, Rousey will also be on the cover of EA Sports’ “UFC 2” along with UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor. White did not announce an opponent or date. She defended her 135-pound title six times before her shocking loss to Holly Holm in Australia two months ago. But we’d argue that an athlete hasn’t topped the pop culture totem pole until he or she has come to us “live from New York” on a Saturday night. White previously mentioned that he was against a Holm interim fight as it is a very risky move in financial terms. Ronda has dedicated the last three-plus years working hard, not just fighting but promoting, taking the sport and the UFC to another level.

The big question is, however, whether Holm will still be the champ when Rousey returns. Miesha Tate is a name that has been rumored, but that’s not confirmed. I don’t see a point in reliving the moment when a part of my loved one died, when I saw someone I cared about have her soul crushed.
