‘Dancing With the Stars’ Announces Its 22nd victor
The Dancing With the Stars season finale was an incredible night celebrating unbelievable dance.

A large part of that credit should go to Peta, who adapted her teaching style to help her partner, who is deaf, keep the beat and stay in tempo. Additionally, brothers Maksim and Valentin Chmerkovskiy gave the fans a sneak peek of the sensational dance show they will be performing across America over the summer: Maks & Val Live On Tour: Our Way.
Carrie Ann Inaba brought DiMarco and all the viewers to tears when she addressed him in American Sign Language.
DiMarco jumped for joy when the final results were revealed and was then engulfed in well-wishes from both the cast of “DWTS” and pro-partner, Peta Murgatroyd.

For their last dance, Paige and Mark performed a number that incorporated jive and salsa steps. “She actually took the time to learn sign language, and you don’t really see that often in this world”.
Speaking after their win, Peta spoke of the “incredible experience” of the show, which she says she owes to him entirely.
“That was a handsome way to end the season”, she said.
“I can’t believe it!”
Whilst judge Len Goodman added: “The only boundaries are the ones we put on ourselves”.
“I feel this is important for you to know that we the Deaf people underwent a bad history and we are still stuck in the darkness. I think that’s the coolest part of this show, there are just such awesome people – especially this season – and I feel so lucky to have made it to the finals”, she said.
Ultimately it was America’s Next Top Model victor DiMarco who won America’s hearts and took home 1st place! It was Peta’s second win, her first since season 14. “So I think that tonight is all about enjoying the last few moments, and having fun with all the sparkles!”
The scores reflected their praise, as VanZant and Ballas earned another ideal score of 30 for their final number, putting them at the top of the heap in terms of scores over the last two weeks.
