‘Dancing With the Stars’: No pay for Bindi Irwin?

As Bindi is only 17, her mother Terri signed a form to state that she gives up all rights to any money her daughter will make during her time on the show.

The 17-year-old’s father, Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, was killed in 2006 after being attacked by a stingray while snorkeling near Queensland, Australia.

Call it ridiculous but a judge has ruled that Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late Steve Irwin, can not collect her money from Dancing with the Stars until she proves that her father is deceased.

Dancing with the Stars contracts guarantee a basic $125k fee, but that goes up depending on how far a contestant progresses.

The sum rose to £9,800 ($15,000) at week five, and then to £13,000 ($20,000) for weeks six and seven.

Bindi has made through Week 8 so far, bringing her to a cool $230,000, with the potential for another $130,000 by the end of November. Why is the judge making it so hard for her to get her money?

“That night was special just because it was tough – I mean it wasn’t easy at all, but it meant so much to me and all of us because it was for Dad”.

Her pro partner, Derek Hough, said he’s never seen anyone like her before, that she just keeps going through all until she gets it right.

A young Bindi used to feature on Steve’s shows and since his death has gone on to present her own series, record music and continue his conservation work.

She scored the first ideal 10 of the season for her memorable dance to “Every Breath You Take”, which she dedicated to her father.

‘This is for my Dad and my family and everyone back home, but for my Dad, ‘ the star through muffled tears at the time.

It’s unclear at this stage if lawyers can simply submit a death certificate or if the judge is unaware of Irwin’s death, TMZ reported.
