The first part of the “Dancing With the Stars” season finale included technically impressive performances, as all three of the competing couples earned at least one flawless score for their routines. He even danced while blindfolded briefly during a routine and dedicated his final dance (Disturbed: The Sound of Silence) to the deaf community.

VanZant put on some of the most energetic performances of the season and already trumped both Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell as the mixed martial artist to make it the furthest on the long-running dance competition show.

Carrie Ann Inaba paid tribute to DiMarco by signing a special message to him. Over ten weeks and 11 episodes, 12 stars were whittled down to just three, Ginger Zee, Nyle DiMarco, and Paige VanZant.
