Despite the injury, Zee says she plans to take the floor Monday night against UFC fighter Paige VanZant and model Nyle DiMarco during the first night of the two-night season finale.
Paige and Mark performed a jive/salsa that earned ideal scores.
DiMarco, 27, became an early fan favorite.
The DWTS pros got engaged last December, when 36-year-old Chmerkovskiy proposed onstage at the Sway: A Dance Trilogy show in Miami.
Despite DiMarco’s inability to hear the music, he and partner Peta Murgatroyd worked with physical cues in order to maintain the pace and rhythm that won them the gold.
For their final performance, the duo took on a Tango/Cha Cha fusion dance, and scored a ideal 30 from the judges helping them solidify their place in the top spot.
“I would just like to bask in this engagement bliss for a little bit – maybe for a year, maybe a little less – but I would like to start [having kids] pretty soon”, Murgatroyd said. Besides his deafness, Nyle DiMarco and Peta Murgatroyd consistently gave us performances that included both outstanding dancing and emotional power. “He made me see that “Dancing With the Stars” is not only about steps, it’s about connecting with someone on the dance floor and moving as one”, Peta said, tearing up during an interview Tuesday night.
“This is such an unbelievable feeling”, Murgatroyd said of winning the competition.
The latter brought judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba to tears because it reflected how DiMarco has inspired the deaf community across the globe.

Following his win, Matlin tweeted congratulations to DiMarco. “I think that’s the one thing that I need the most”. It was a lot of old-fashioned fun from Ginger and Val for their freestyle performance that earned 10-10-10 scores from the judges.
