Dani Alves excited with new adventure at Juventus

Barcelona recently already announced that the Brazil worldwide would be allowed to leave on a free despite a contract until June 2017, with Paris Saint-Germain and Juve keen to sign the right-back. “It would be an honour because he has the right spirit to be a part of Juve”.

Barcelona said earlier this month that the 33-year-old defender had made a “personal decision” to leave after eight years.

Mascherano has also been strongly linked with Italy and though Alves doesn’t know if his former teammate will make the same move, he acknowledged he’d be happy if he did.

“We need to believe we can win the Champions League if we are to do it”.

“I don’t like to rest on my laurels and I always want new challenges, so I made a decision to leave”, he confirmed, AS reports. “There’s a unique opportunity to go down in history here”.

“I’m not a star, I’m a hard worker”.

“I think this will be a really interesting experience, what with living in a different country and discovering a new type of football that I don’t know”.

“I’m not someone who looks for an easy ride”.

Alves confirmed he will wear the number 23 at Juventus, a nod to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ recent NBA Finals win. When a team signs you that’s because of your individual qualities and one of the most remarkable things about Juventus is how closely they study the players they mean to sign.
