Britain needs a £300 million advance research agency to keep it at the cutting edge of high-technology, Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has insisted.
Some 12.3% of Labour voters said they thought “strongly unfavourably” towards the party’s leader.
Asked how he meant to win over any alienated female Labour MPs, he said: “I want to reach out to all members of the Labour Party and all members of the parliamentary party”.
Mr. Corbyn’s stance may prove popular beyond women, however, as activists have argued in the past that after-work drinks are unfair to Muslims, who choose not to drink on the basis of their religion.
“Parliamentary Labour Party, with the majority of members hoping that the election result would encourage MP’s to support our leader in the new parliamentary session”.
Labour’s parliamentary party has agreed to hold a vote on allowing its MPs to elect the shadow cabinet after it was told “we can’t carry on as we are”.
Chris Matheson is openly supporting Owen Smith and promoted his favoured candidate when he spoke at Eddisbury Labour Party but again the nomination went to Corbyn.
“I think we all suddenly realised that we are so used to politicians lying”, he said.
Jeremy Corbyn hit out when shadow cabinet elections were scrapped in 2011.
Today a spokesman for Mr Corbyn signalled a direct vote by Labour members could be a different solution.
Survation’s director of political polling Chris Hopkins said: “It’s significant to see such a large difference in favourability ratings between the Prime Minister and leader of the opposition”.
