Rickman’s role as Le Vicomte de Valmont in “Les Liaisons Dangereuses” (“Dangerous Liaisons”), the 1986 Royal Shakespeare Company staging of the French novel, earned him raving reviews and great acclaim.

He played one of the most iconic characters in the hugely successful Harry Potter franchise; Severus Snape.

Radcliffe added: “Working with him at such a formative age was incredibly important and I will carry the lessons he taught me for the rest of my life and career”.

The team of “Harry Potter”, including the lead cast members Danielle Radcliffe and Emma Watson, has paid heart-touching homage to actor Alan Rickman, most famously known for his role of strict professor Severus Snape in the fantasy film series.Rickman has died following a battle with cancer. He has no reason to look as old (or indeed as handsome) as the now sadly late Alan Rickman, and as viewers we have no reason to accept him, except for what in fannish circles is described as the “Rule of Cool”. “I’m going to count to three”, Gruber says. “A great artist and a lovely man”.

Sir Patrick Stewart: “Alan was perhaps our most distinctive and unique stage and film performer, with a voice and phrasing that teased and taunted, mocked and despaired”. It transferred to Broadway where he received a Tony Award nomination.

Yesterday the world found out that we lost one of our greatest actors, Alan Rickman. “He leaves a multitude of fans and friends”. “He directed a couple times and acquited himself well behind the camera”.

Sigourney Weaver, his co-star in Galaxy Quest and Snow Cake: “Alan’s enormous strength of character infused every character he played”.

Frequently charming in person, Rickman was, by his own account, uncompromising as an actor.

One of the best moments of the Harry Potter series.

He was never a Daniel Day-Lewis-type chameleon who disappeared into his roles; Rickman’s Ronald Reagan in Lee Daniels’ The Butler was probably the least Reagan-y screen Reagan ever, for one.

“You’re as polite as possible, but it’s not always possible”.

Chris Rankin posted, “Just had very bad news of Alan Rickmans death”.

It was recently revealed that he and his long-term partner, Rima Horton, had married in secret previous year.
