Jurgen Klopp insisted Liverpool missed the opportunity to secure a second Premier League victory of the season after drawing 1-1 with Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

The former Sunderland goalkeeper, however, could not stop a great shot from Tottenham defender Danny Rose this time, as the left-back pounced on a ideal pass from Eric Dier to pull the trigger powerfully and blast the net for the equaliser in the 72nd minute of the match.

“I’m really happy that we have him.

We made one mistake in and around the goal for their goal”, Klopp said.

Liverpool were undoubtedly the first team to find their feet in the match, causing a number of chances from the 20th minute onwards.

Pochettino said: “I am very pleased, it was a very competitive game, both teams played with passion. As long as we keep performing and doing the right things, and don’t get impatient with it, I’m sure more results will come”, explained Milner. We have to accept the point and that’s not a problem because it’s Tottenham.

Spurs striker Harry Kane is yet to score this season, but having taken seven games to open his account last term – which ended with him winning the Golden Boot – manager Mauricio Pochettino is not anxious.

Tottenham kept looking for an equaliser as Eriksen saw his effort endng up high, while Mignolet produced two fine saved to keep away Lamela’s free kick and Toby Alderweireld’s header. Few minutes later, the Tottenham goalkeeper saved another Coutinho shot from close range. They ultimately leveled the match when Rose successfully concluded a play that began with a nifty cross from Eric Dier. “Sitting here with four points after three games is not what I wanted but this is our base and we will build on this base”.

“If you look at our goalline chance in the first half – if we go 2-0 up it’s a different game”.

Man-of-the-match Lovren said: “It’s a disappointment that we didn’t take the three points but it was a good performance from everyone”.

“In the end we were convinced he could play the position and that’s why we didn’t make the transfer”. “What can I say?” It was a wonderful goal.

Liverpool started the second half better, too, with Premier League debutant Joel Matip glancing a header against the crossbar from a corner, only for Spurs to equalize against the run of play.

The hosts suffered a setback in the 28th minute Kyle Walker was replaced by new signing Vincent Janssen, although it was Liverpool’s Mane, a 34 million euro ($38 million) signing from Southampton, who dazzled in the first half.

“If you want to you can always talk to me about players who didn’t start”.

With Spaniard Alberto Moreno still to convince in a Liverpool shirt, Milner is being asked to fill in at left-back and Klopp suggested there could be a long-term future for him in the role. “But for this game, I made the decision for what we needed”.
