Danny White to be named UCF’s next AD
Regarded one of the nation’s most talented young athletic directors, Danny White brings to the University of Central Florida a strong record of success on the field and in the classroom, as well as an impressive family pedigree in college athletics.

Before taking the helm of the Bulls’ athletics program, White was the senior associate athletics director at MS from 2009-12, associate athletics director for development at California State University, Fresno, from 2007-09 and assistant athletics director for development at Northern IL University from 2006-07. The others were Kentucky deputy athletics director DeWayne Peevy and Texas A&M deputy athletics director Marcy Girton. Former head football coach George O’Leary assumed the interim athletics director role before stepping down in October and ultimately retiring from coaching a few weeks later.
“Under Danny’s leadership, and the leadership of his coaches, athletics staff and student athletes, our UB athletics program has made tremendous strides over the past four years”, he said.
White is the son of Duke athletics director Kevin White.
White has been the AD at Buffalo since May of 2012.
White’s short tenure at Buffalo, the only full Division I athletics program in the SUNY system in NY, didn’t come without a few criticism.
White, 35, will be introduced at the Orlando school on Thursday.

White, who is the brother of new Florida basketball coach Mike White, will hire a new football coach in his first months on the job.
