Dark Souls developer working on “several new projects”

Dark Souls series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki talks about the newest installment in the series, Dark Souls 3, and how it will be a “turning point” in the franchise as a whole.

Dark Souls is my life’s work”, he said in the interview. These Lords will take on the form of huge bosses and players will have to defeat them throughout the course of the game.

And it’s safe to say that it’s definitely a Dark Souls game. After all, he even has the title “Lord of Cinder” in his name. Unlike Dark Souls II, for which Miyazaki had a supervisory role, the franchise creator is directly involved with Dark Souls III as the game’s director.

Considering that the Souls games have usually dealt with concepts like endless cycles and repetition, it seems plausible to think that we’ll be contending with the repercussions of the curse bearer’s actions in the past.

But the one thing that is new is Weapon Art. It’s a new system that gives you a certain number of weapon-specific special moves that you’ll only be able to use a certain number of times per bonfire. “Everything I came up with for Dark Souls 3 is based on my personal preferences”.
