Dark Souls free with Dark Souls III pre-orders on Xbox One

If you were to ask me, I rather get the game on Xbox One, now that I’m getting the first Dark Souls game free of charge. Now, if you owned that game for Xbox 360 or buy it today, it will be available to play on your Xbox One.

The listing, since removed, suggests that those who pre-order Dark Souls III will receive a code for Dark Souls within 10 days.

Xbox Live director of programming Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb broke the news about the new backward compatible titles on Twitter. Just a short while ago, it was leaked that Rockstar Games’ highly popular Red Dead Redemption would be made available as a backwards compatible title and that it’s now undergoing emulation testing to ensure that everything works as intended. The page stated that download codes for the game would be sent out to those who pre-order Dark Souls 3. A spiritual successor to Dark Souls, Bloodborne, released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive previous year.

Do you think people get fired over these gun jumping episodes, or the higher ups just laugh it off? That’s not particularly surprising given its stance on rumors. Microsoft has yet to acknowledge that. Microsoft confirmed that it was a mistake that brought that game to the Xbox One.
