Dockett was released in February 2015, following a lost 2014 season with a torn ACL. He attempted to catch on with the San Francisco 49ers but was released in the preseason.
We shared the news earlier today that the Arizona Cardinals and former defensive tackle Darnell Dockett intends to retire on Monday as a member of the team.
If Dockett is indeed done, he’ll end his career having played only for the Cardinals in the regular season. He is expected to sign a one-day contract with the Cardinals prior officially retiring. Cardinals president Michael Bidwill, Cardinals coach Bruce Arians and Dockett will be in attendance. Dockett closes his career with 459 career tackles, seven forced fumbles, 12 fumble recoveries and four interceptions. He tied a Super Bowl record with three sacks in Super Bowl XLIII in a loss to the Steelers. The NFL will be losing one of its most fascinating personalties, as Dockett is expected to announce his retirement on Monday after a ten year career.

He has live-tweeted traffic stops, once pretended to live tweet jury duty and proclaimed his love for actresses and talk-show hosts, including Oprah Winfrey, on social media. From 2004-2013, Dockett missed just two games.
