US Representative Virginia Foxx, a North Carolina Republican, said a Republican president was needed, without mentioning Trump.
Paul Ryan, the top elected US Republican, had criticised Trump for what he called a “textbook definition of a racist comment” for his remarks about the judge. That would indeed spell our doom.
“We’re going to do it a little different, if it’s O.K.”, he told the crowd.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump greets supporters before a speech Saturday, June 11, 2016, in Tampa, Fla. Trump said Saturday that he’d be willing to apologize – but not to Warren.
Trump has 1,542 delegates, according to The Associated Press’ count, including 1,447 pledged under current GOP rules to vote for him at the convention.
Trump signaled Wednesday in an interview with Bloomberg Politics that he would instead continue to rely on free media attention to make up for his money deficit. Romney blasted Trump on CNN Friday saying, “Presidents have an impact on the nature of our nation, and trickle-down racism, trickle-down bigotry, trickle-down misogyny, all these things are extraordinarily risky to the heart and character of America”. Rather than the all-star cast of Republican luminaries the city had hoped to attract when it first won the convention, they’re watching many high-profile Republicans say not thanks.

Warren’s criticisms of Trump marked the latest chapter in a months-long feud between the senator and the businessman.
But Warren, D-Mass., says McConnell and Ryan are really no better than Trump on the issue of judges.
He then directed his surrogates to go after reporters who wrote about the Trump University lawsuits and Trump’s Curiel comments.

“I will not stand idly by listening to a person attacking the integrity of a judge due to their ethnicity”, Labrador, an Idaho Republican, said at a monthly news conference he holds with a group of his fellow conservatives in the House of Representatives.
