Daughter Chelsea casts Clinton as great mom, driven public servant
America’s first couple delivered the most convincing testimonials for the former USA secretary of state – and the most compelling reasons at the Democratic national convention in Philadelphia for why disgruntled Democrats, sceptical independents and Trump-disenfranchised Republicans should put Clinton in the Oval Office.

“America is once again at a moment of reckoning”, said the prepared text.
Clinton was not accepting the Democratic nomination at this convention, as she had hoped to do.
“But we are not afraid”. The signals coming through in the choice of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump suggest huge sociological changes having taken place in the most powerful country, leaving the rest of the world to wonder what is happening out there.
But since Obama’s 2009 inauguration, Democrats have lost 69 U.S. House seats, 13 U.S. Senate seats and majority control of both chambers. She will also offer specific solutions in areas like national security and how to grow middle class incomes.
Arriving on stage to U2’s City of Blinding Lights, the Democratic president portrayed the dark rhetoric and sombre themes of Trump’s campaign as not just being far removed from Obama’s “America I know” but from the “shining city on a hill” vision championed by Ronald Reagan, whom Trump is attempting to channel in winning over mostly angry, white conservative voters. Without proposing radically different policies – especially in a year where voters want radical change – it’s a steep task for Clinton to win this November.
But Clinton did what she always does.
Trump did his best to steal the spotlight Wednesday.
“I think that kind of message will come across in some fashion”, Gulino said.
Former Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm delivered an address at the Democratic National Convention that touted Hillary Clinton’s commitment to building an economy that leaves no American behind. “I said that because I know that Donald Trump couldn’t tell the difference”.
“He said don’t talk down”. You’re stuck up there, people walking by.
Amazing Grace: Speakers at the DNC, from Michelle Obama to Meryl Streep, have used the word “grace” to describe Hillary Clinton’s pursuit of the White House.
“I would still classify myself as a Bernie Sanders supporter but her speech tonight, and looking at some of the negativity you saw surrounding the protests tonight, I am looking toward the general election and I’ll definitely be supporting Hillary”, Workman said. “She told me to keep up the fight”, McCaskill said. “He calls himself a business guy, which is true, but I have to say, I know plenty of businessmen and women who’ve achieved success without leaving a trail of lawsuits, and unpaid workers, and people feeling like they got cheated”, he said.
“She portrayed Trump as volatile, saying “a man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons”.
Clinton, 68, enjoyed a stream of unrestrained praise Wednesday at the Democratic National Convention, from her running mate Tim Kaine to Vice President Joe Biden to the independent former mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg. After two nights of speeches meant to unify the party and show a more personal and warmer side of Clinton, the third night featured a sharp turn to attacking Trump.
Obama and other Democratic leaders have said that unlike Clinton, Trump is unqualified for the Oval Office.
“America is already great”, declared Obama. “Donald Trump consistently smears the character of Muslims”, he said.

“In Donald Trump’s America, it doesn’t matter that I’m an accomplished attorney and a policy expert, it just matters how attractive I am on a scale of one to 10”. He thought, as in the musical Hamilton, that if he laid a strong enough foundation, he’d pass it onto them, he’d give the world to them, and they’d blow us all away.
