Apparently, a middle-aged woman in St. Cloud heard footsteps in her home early in the morning and shot a single bullet at the “home intruder” who turned out to be her 27-year-old daughter.
Police said the daughter was taken to Osceola Regional Hospital, where she died.
The mother was also taken to hospital for observation, the station reported.
St. Cloud Police Cpl. “She has a heart problem”, in a recording released during the five-minute 911 call did Campbell mention why Doby was struggling to breathe – a gunshot wound to the chest. She had passed out, he says.
The Associated Press reports the woman was sleeping when she heard someone enter her home Tuesday night. News 6 has learned a law enforcement officer lives at the house where the accidental shooting occurred.
State law affords privacy protections to Florida law enforcement officers, including not disclosing their home addresses.

“The homeowner’s story is consistent with the physical evidence and the witness’ statement”, authorities said.
