Dave Grohl Joins Prophets Of Rage To Cover MC5
If you haven’t heard of Prophets of Rage, it’s a new supergroup consisting of members of Rage Against The Machine, Public Enemy, and Cypress Hill. On the chorus, they reiterate what their title proclaims, “The party’s over”. “Done, the party is done/ It’s over and done/ The damage is done/ The politics done/ Hypocrisy done/ The party is done/ It’s over and done/ It’s over and done”, they sing.

The EP features five tracks, including three live recordings.
Rocker Dave Grohl stunned concert-goers in Toronto, Canada on Wednesday (24Aug16) by joining Prophets of Rage onstage for a surprise appearance. It settles into a funky, Rage-like groove soon enough, and B-Real takes the lead on the first verse with Chuck D joining in for emphasis on some lines and the chorus.

Following cheers from the crowd, Grohl screamed out the MC5 track’s familiar intro of “kick out the jams, motherfucker”, and the band played a fairly faithful version of the rock track. It’s not often you get two of the most visible guitarists of the past 20 years, Grohl and Morello, on one stage, so it was a moment to behold.
