David Ayer Explains the Joker’s ‘Damaged’ Tattoo
Margot Robbie explained why so many of Jared Leto’s scenes from Suicide Squad ended up on the cutting room floor.

Margot Robbie has revealed that she would like to make a spin-off film featuring her and Jared Leto’s characters from “Suicide Squad”. Looking at what the original logo for the film looked like, compared to the brighter colored substitute in the next trailer, is probably the biggest sign of where Warner Bros and DC Comics chose to take things in the end.
Though the release of David Ayer’s “Suicide Squad” was met with another divisive reaction from the fans, there’s no harm in admitting that the movie’s decision to cast Margot Robbie as the Joker’s maniacal girlfriend was anything less than flawless.
Margot plays Harley Quinn, a former psychiatrist who is driven mad by her relationship with patient and famed villain The Joker. Of course, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), and Waller (Viola Davis) were well-represented. After the film’s flop he suffered a career slump which he blames on his earlier success making him so hungry “to win” that he picked the wrong projects as he was more focused on money and box office credentials over great storylines.
Prior to the film’s release, two versions were tested with audiences in California. The biggest thing I didn’t like is what happens to Slipknot.
“I feel like at this point in my career I’ve earned the right to fail”, he explained. The chicks never get these roles! So, maybe Leto is trying to learn more about his character and “feeling” him.

Whether or not you liked Suicide Squad, you have to admit we saw only a slice of Harley and Joker’s story. I’m going to be honest and say that aside from character names, I went in without knowing much about the story arc for this DC film, so I had little to no expectations either way. I’m saying this as someone with the semi-controversial stance that Suicide Squad was an average movie and not a stain on the soul of the world: definitely learn something from the critical response.
