Jamie and Australian partner John Peers were beaten 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 by fourth seeds Jean-Julien Rojer, from the Netherlands, and Horia Tecau, from Romania.

He’s had a big moment before of course, his 2007 mixed doubles title at SW19 with Jelena Jankovic is a career highlight – and his brother was in the crowd that day.

The 40-year-old showed off his nifty handy work by somehow grabbing a stray shot during the doubles match involving Andy Murray’s brother Jamie.

Wimbledon shared the incident on it’s Twitter page, writing, “Can we have our ball back please…?” Together with the Swedish veteran Robert Lindstedt, the Romanian contested the Wimbledon men’s doubles final three times in three years between 2010 and 2012.

Asked after his crushing defeat to Federer if he would be in the stands to watch Jamie, Andy said: “I may come and be here and see what the score is. I mean, my best result in a Grand Slam by quite some distance, I guess”, added Murray. “In Spain we don’t have that much grass but I’m going to change things now”.

“Our goal as a team is to win this tournament – for me it has been that for a long time”.

“I said, ‘All right. We may never have a chance to play a grand slam final again, I don’t know what’s going to happen in the future”. “People come and talk to me because they want to talk about Andy”. “We beat them in the first match of the year in Brisbane, then lost a close match in Rotterdam which they kind of stole from us”.

Serena Williams has been crowned the undisputed champion of women’s tennis after powering her way to victory at Wimbledon.
