A DAVID Bowie memorial concert will take place in NY in March.

Little information was available on how or where he died, and requests for comment to Bowie’s record company Columbia Records were not answered.
Bowie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
Bowie “was just living life to its fullest – fully engaged in the moment, fully engaged in his art”, McCaslin added through tears.
“I dyed it that colour a few years ago and was gutted when I had to dye my hair brown for my job but since I have moved jobs and have been able to dye my hair back”.
Tim Lefebvre, who played bass on “Blackstar”, said: “I don’t know where he found the strength. He was just coming in and singing his ass off”.
The cosmos fascinated him from his first big hit, “Space Oddity”. Its finale, “I Can’t Give Everything Away”, includes the lines: “I know something is very wrong/ The pulse returns for prodigal sons/ The blackout’s hearts with flowered news/ With skull designs upon my shoes”. After John died, David was always there for Sean and me.
“His death was no different from his life – a work of Art. He made “Blackstar” for us, his parting gift”.
Bowie last week released a video for a second track on the album, “Lazarus”, which was written for a current theater production in NY – a new take on “The Man Who Fell to Earth”, the novel of an alien exploring the planet’s delights whose 1976 film version starred Bowie.
Organisers said: “The unexpected death of David Bowie has turned this tribute, which we have worked on for the past seven months, into a memorial concert”.
“Who knows, but we’re sure you’ll want to join us in congratulating him on both. I wasn’t, however, prepared for it”.
Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby told the BBC on Monday that he became a fan during Bowie’s early rise to prominence. “It was as amusing as always, and as surreal, looping through word games and allusions and all the usual stuff we did”, he continues.
“It ended with this sentence: “Thank you for our good times, brian. they will never rot”.
For “Blackstar”, Bowie sought out McCaslin, a saxophonist who has tested the limits of modern jazz with funk and electronics. “And I realized that it might be the last time I saw him”, said Van Hove.

Bowie contributed to “the sense of being queer – of inhabiting, and moving fluidly, through a range of identities that aren’t necessarily solidified, or even a strict set of desires”, she said.
