David Bowie’s Strange Stardust Connection to Lubbock
Bowie’s son, film director Duncan Jones, confirmed news of his father’s death Monday with a short message on Twitter and has not commented further.

In a statement released on the star’s Facebook page, his family said he had passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones after battling the disease since 2014.

Musicians spanning continents and generations published remembrances to the British singer, from Kanye West to Madonna to Paul McCartney. Never saw it coming. As word spread of his death, fans lined up along the SoHo sidewalk to pay tribute.

While the British Prime Minister David Cameron called Bowie a master of re-invention, who kept getting it right. “I think that album [Hunky Dory] and the whole Ziggy thing as well gave-I mean I grew up gay and transgender at a time of less tolerant attitudes”. And David Bowie was already, you know, as early as the 1960s, doing that kind of work.
Sinclair explained her particular fondness for Bowie’s hit single Changes.

As for the February 13, tribute concert, Loewenberg said the Townehouse house band, which includes Dan and Ryan Levecque, Matt Foy, and himself, will go through Bowie’s wide-ranging discography, starting with his pre-Space Oddity output, all the way to his more recent albums.
