David Bowie’s wife Iman posts moving messages ahead of his death
“The cast didn’t know all that time, and I suspect that the musicians with whom he recorded [his final studio album] Blackstar didn’t know either”, the director said. “I feel a huge gap now”, Eno said.

Following news of his death, critics poured over the lyrics from his swansong album Blackstar, released on his 69th birthday last Friday, looking for clues as to whether Bowie realised the end was near. You’re writing a farewell album.’ Bowie simply laughed in response. “Everybody knows me now” and “I’ve got nothing left to lose”. “You’d tell him he was great and he was nearly a little shy about it. He was appreciative of it, but I don’t think he liked people putting him on this pedestal because he just did what he did”.
Of his favourite photo Hallag says, “I look at it and get sad, because it’s not going to happen again”.
If you’ve heard your parents, teachers or other adults mention the name David Bowie over the last couple of days, you might have also heard them use words like “idol”, “music legend” and “inspiration” to describe him.
The video for the song Lazarus, from the new album, shows Bowie trapped in a hospital bed with bandages covering his eyes.
Meanwhile, a friend of Bowie’s wife Iman said the grief-stricken supermodel is “holding up” following David’s death.
Former Eurythmics singer Annie Lennox also paid her respects to the star on her Facebook page on Monday (11Jan16).
Elsewhere, Rick hailed the late music icon – who died on Sunday (01.10.16) following a secret 18-month battle with cancer – as a “musical genius” who not only “changed” his life, but the landscape of music, fashion and art.
In the message she emphasised the importance of savoring every day, with a quote: “sometimes you will never know the true value of a moment, until it becomes a memory”.
