David Bowie to be honoured at Brit Awards
Millions have been mourning the death of musician David Bowie this week, but it seems the singer himself was against the idea of a public memorial or funeral.

The David Bowie Channel will launch on Tuesday, January 12th at 7 pm ET and will run through Monday, January 18th via satellite on SiriusXM’s The Loft, channel 30.
Great Britain is home to the most influential personalities that changed the music industry forever, and David Bowie was one of them. Chairman of the Brit Awards Max Lousada said: “Naturally, we wish to honour his extraordinary life and work at the forthcoming Brit awards and pay a fitting tribute to one of our greatest icons”.
Bowie died from cancer aged 69, two days after releasing his 25th album, Blackstar.
It has been reported that music legend David Bowie “has been secretly cremated in America without friends or family present”.

Singer Tina Turner paid tribute to the singer, saying “a piece of my heart has broken”.
“This year’s concert will certainly be remembered as a poignant celebration of his music by his friends, peers, and fans”, a statement on the organisers’ website said.
“He said that because he knew that he may not always be able to be around”, Hove told NOS.nl station. Over the last few years – with him living in NY and me in London – our connection was by email.
“His star will shine in the sky forever”.
“The name Stardust actually came from the Legendary Stardust Cowboy, who was a musician here in Lubbock”, he said.
Now, nearly 5,000 fans have signed an online petition which is entitled: “Say no to David Bowie dead”.

The album had been receiving glowing reviews in various publications since its release, and looks set to earn him his first ever no. 1 album in the US.
