“Lazarus” is based on “The Man Who Fell to Earth“, the science-fiction novel whose 1976 film adaptation starred Bowie but did not include his music after a contractual dispute.

There has been speculation Bowie hinted at his illness with his album title, reported music magazine NME.
“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer”, read the official announcement on Facebook on Monday.
“Following the very sad news of David Bowie’s death, we can now confirm that Angie Bowie has been informed off camera by her representatives”, Channel 5, the network that airs the show in the United Kingdom, said to PEOPLE in a statement.
Fort Worth’s Toadies have added to the tributes to David Bowie by posting a cover of his 1977 song “Heroes ” on the band’s website.
A David Bowie memorial concert is set for March 21 at New York’s Carnegie Hall following the singer’s tragic death.
