One source said: ‘In many respects you don’t need a memorial or service to remember David by…you have his music instead. “I still fancy him – totally! – after all these years”. There was a similar spike on Apple Music, where 21 of Bowie’s tracks are now ranked in the top 100 of the most streamed songs.
Since his death on Sunday (Jan. 10), everyone from Arcade Fire to Madonna to Spoon have spoken out about the inspiration that they gained from David Bowie, and now Lady Gaga has shared thoughts about the Blackstar singer.
Tony Visconti, who worked with Bowie on many of his albums, was another who knew the singer was ill. The audio CD and vinyl for “Blackstar” occupy the top two spots on the list, which is updated hourly, while “Best of Bowie” ranks third.
“I thought Starman was going to live forever…the world has lost a bright light”. Unique. Genius. Game Changer. Another picture regrammed by the model read, “Happy birthday to the man who fell to earth. Your Spirit Lives on Forever!”
However, the very first clue came a week ago when she reposted a photo of Bowie overlayed with the words to Lazarus, a song believed to be about his secret struggle with cancer. Lady Gaga, also known for her detailed costumes and stage shows, discussed Bowie in an interview that took place some time before the musician’s death.
Van Hove said Bowie was desperate to finish “Blackstar” and “Lazarus” before it was too late.
Bowie was exceptional specifically because he challenged the status quo and even his own fame to constantly re-invent himself, re-invigorate his music, and create new trends.
On last night’s episode, a brief preview of tonight’s episode was shown, in which we saw Angie in the Diary Room reflecting on her ex-husband’s passng. He came into the main room with us and sang while we played.

By now an influential symbol of artistic reinvention venturing into the theatre, film and fashion worlds, Bowie continued to innovate, helping produce Lou Reed’s “Walk on the Wild Side” and Iggy Pop’s “Lust for Life” album.
