Police tell the Sun-Sentinel that Cassidy sideswiped a truck, then stopped and tried to cover his license plate before driving away on a flat tire.

At least, this time around, witnesses said Cassidy didn’t appear impaired when the front passenger’s side of his Kia (he does, after all, have financial problems!) hit the back of a box truck.

David Cassidy was charged with a hit-and-run on Wednesday, September 30, for a Florida auto crash he was involved in earlier in the month, The Associated Press reports. A notice was immediately sent out by police to be on the look out for David’s vehicle. Authorities then put out a BOLO for Cassidy, who was found at the Cleveland Clinic Florida hospital in Weston.

Police did not test Cassidy for alcohol or drugs, the paper said. He said Cassidy gave police his driver’s license and registration before leaving the scene.

His auto was eventually towed by AAA due to the extent of damage done to it.

The vehicle he collided with has an estimated $12,000 in damages. That was followed by an August 2013 arrest in upstate New York after Cassidy failed a roadside sobriety test. Most recently, Cassidy was reportedly arrested for another DUI in Los Angles and in March 2014 was sentenced to five years’ probation. The singer, who sold over 30 million records in his career, is also in the middle of a divorce from his wife Susan, and he filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
