David Gest, the former husband of Liza Minnelli turned reality TV personality, has died aged 62.
“It is with great sadness that I can confirm that David Gest has died today”, Handi told the BBC.
‘David was truly larger than life.
‘I know he will be missed by millions of fans around the world, and particularly in Britain, who came to love his charm and blistering one-liners.
“It would love it to be yesterday and have that opportunity to have that conversation with him where he would ring me up saying “love you more”.
Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene mid-morning after they received a call reporting a lifeless man in his 60s at the complex.
The force said an autopsy would take place “in due course” to determine the cause of death, but it was not being treated as suspicious.

Gest hit headlines earlier this year during his run on Celebrity Big Brother, when housemate Tiffany Pollard mistakenly believed he was dead.
David Gest was a childhood friend of Michael Jackson who had made his money producing TV, and music videos.

Gest married Minnelli in March 2002 in a star-studded ceremony with Michael Jackson as best man and Elizabeth Taylor as maid of honour.
