David Coleman Headley had reportedly started his deposition before a special Mumbai court by video linka.

December 2011: The National Investigation Agency had filed a charge-sheet accusing Headley, his Pakistani-Canadian accomplice Tahawwur Rana, Lashkar founder Hafiz Saeed and seven others of conspiracy. While ISI’ majors Iqbal and Sameer Ali were Headley’s handlers, ISI brigadier Rivaz was LeT chief Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi’s, according to the report.

November 26-28, 2008: 10 attackers educated by Lashkar carried out a number of assaults with firearms, grenades and improvised explosive units towards a number of targets in Mumbai, together with the Taj Mahal and Oberoi inns, the Leopold Cafe, the Chabad House and the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus practice station, every of which Headley had scouted prematurely, killing roughly 164 victims and wounding lots of extra. Legally, Headley’s deposition is aimed at nailing Pakistani’s prevarication and lies in the Mumbai attack.

“This is very important in the judicial history of India”, special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said on the eve of deposition of Headley as an approver before Additional Sessions Judge G A Sanap, who presides over special cases related to terrorism including those charged under now repealed TADA. He, however, refused to divulge any further information.

He will depose before the court through video conference on Monday and the day after between 7 AM to 12:30 PM. The court is now trying key plotter Sayed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal in connection with the terror attacks case.

He revealed that Pakistan’s ISI helped terrorists in executing the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and ISI Lieutenant General Ahmed Shuja Pasha visited Lakhvi at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi post his arrest.

At that time, mature Mumbai officer Atul Kulkarni had told NDTV the justice had determined they might “have more from him (Headley) with him being an approver than being an accused considering his plea deal contract in America”.
