David Krejci returns to the Bruins lineup

Daniel Sedin potted the game winning goal and an insurance marker in the third period of Thursday night’s 4-2 win over Boston, making him the leading goal scorer in Canucks history. That third goal, which came when Sedin buried a rebound that Zach Trotman was unable to corral, proved to be all the Canucks needed.

Rask’s 17-save shutout helped Boston blank Vancouver 4-0 in the only other meeting between the teams this season on December 5. Marchand controlled the puck and tried a unsafe backhand clear into the middle of the ice that Vancouver was able to pick opff and go back on the attack. Jimmy Hayes tied the game after his shot deflected off of Christopher Tanev.

It was Marchand who had tied Thursday’s game 2-2 at 4:15 of the third, whipping a wrist shot past goalie Jacob Markstrom’s catching glove a few seconds after Canuck Jannik Hansen shockingly gave away the puck to Patrice Bergeron.

ABOUT THE BRUINS (24-16-5): Center David Krejci (upper body) has begun skating and could return soon while bottom-six forward Landon Ferraro (lower body) is considered day-to-day. The B’s hung tough without the crafty centerman, going 5-4-1 and maintaining a playoff position.

SHARKS 3, COYOTES 1: Tommy Wingels and Chris Tierney scored first-period goals, Martin Jones stopped 23 shots and the San Jose Sharks beat the slumping Arizona Coyotes 3-1 on Thursday night.

Jakub Voracek extended his seven-game point streak against Pittsburgh with his sixth goal of the season.

Boston pulled even in the final minute of the second period.

Baertschi poked a puck through Rask’s legs to put the Canucks ahead early in the first period. Left winger Mike Hoffman added a power-play goal with 3:55 left in regulation, and defenseman Cody Ceci added his fourth of the season at 17:14. Sedin has 21 goals and 43 points in 48 games this season.

Denna Laing was honored prior to tonight’s game as sisters Brianne and Lexie dropped the ceremonial opening faceoff between captains Henrik Sedin and Zdeno Chara.
