David Luiz: Chelsea Re-Sign Brazil Defender From PSG For £34m
The Blues announced on Wednesday that the 29-year-old Brazilian defender would return to the club after a two-year stint with Paris Saint-Germain.

PSG had previously turned down approaches from Chelsea for both Luiz and his Brazilian team-mate Marquinhos, telling them that neither defender was for sale.
Chelsea agreed a fee with French capital club PSG, with only personal terms and a medical examination to be completed late Wednesday.
Capped 56 times for his country, Luiz won the Champions League and FA Cup with Chelsea in 2012, as well as the Europa League a year later.
“I’m delighted to return to Chelsea”, he told the club’s official website. “I can’t wait to wear the shirt and play in Stamford Bridge again”.
Promoted Burnley broke their record for the second time in this window by signing Ireland worldwide Jeff Hendrick from Derby County for a reported fee of 10.5 million pounds.
He vowed not to celebrate if he scored against his former club, but did so as PSG advanced on away goals at the expense of Chelsea in March 2015.
Kimpembe, of French nationality, has only played in 10 league games for the French champions accompanied by another two appearances in all other competitions, which didn’t fit the requirements in terms of playing experience to fit into Conte’s first team Chelsea plans.
David Luiz has been branded a defensive “liability” who has become a worse player since leaving Chelsea two years ago.
The 24-year-old has been limited to just 66 league matches over the last five seasons and has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal.
The former Bolton defender began his career at Real Madrid and has also had a spell on loan at Sunderland. “It is an interesting move and I hope he will help us win titles”.
Alonso said on chelseafc.com: “I’m very happy”.

“I am excited to meet everyone at the club, to see the stadium and of course the fans, who I have heard so many good things about”.
