Chelsea has agreed terms with Paris St Germain for defender David Luiz’s return to Stamford Bridge for a fee of around £34m.

Chelsea had sold Luiz to French champions PSG for a whopping £50 million just two years ago.

Although he endured criticism for some haphazard defending during his time at Chelsea, Luiz helped the club win the Champions League for the first time when they defeated Bayern Munich in the German club’s own stadium in the 2012 final.

Luiz scored eight goals in 89 appearances for PSG, winning the Ligue 1 title on two occasions, as well as the Coupe de France and the Coupe de la Ligue twice each.
Chelsea winger Juan Cuadrado, 28, has rejoined Juventus on a three-year loan deal. He can play left-back, right-back and as a holding midfielder.
Laurens wasn’t done there either and, speaking from experience having watched Luiz at PSG on a near weekly basis over the past couple of seasons, he wasn’t exactly complimentary about the player Antonio Conte is getting back.
Speaking shortly after signing his five-year contract, a joyful Alonso expressed how easy it was to make the decision to join the Blues.
