David Luiz urges Chelsea to ‘keep fighting’ in wake of Liverpool loss

Goals from Dejan Lovren and Jordan Henderson left Chelsea with a mountain to climb, and one that ultimately proved insurmountable, before half-time.

Premier League: Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson scores an absolute screamer against Chelsea in week 5.

“Someone asked me that when we won 3-1 last season against Chelsea. My answer was ‘are you crazy?'” Klopp laughed. “I learnt a little bit about the English (media)”. Speaking after the Chelsea match, the German said, “Look, we have 10 points”. I am happy to be a part of it.

Liverpool have scored 52 goals in 2016, more than any other Premier League team and Klopp’s methods are clearly working.

Strong performances from Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and James Milner have helped guide Klopp’s side to seven points from their last three games. It’s about finding a solution for the opponent.

The goals gave the Reds a 2-0 lead after the first half, which Lovren called Liverpool’s finest 45 minutes thus far in the campaign.

In an attempt to explain his side’s early success, Klopp said that positions in football are only important when you don’t have the ball – intimating his demand for free-thinking, versatile, adaptable players. We can come through the lines by running. “We have to improve, but we don’t run like insane all the time”.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte isn’t too anxious about the club’s 2-1 loss to Liverpool yesterday.

Liverpool were on the front foot from the word go and took the attack to the Chelsea players rather than sitting deep in their half.

It was Conte’s first defeat since taking charge at Stamford Bridge a few months ago. “We must pay attention and be focused”. I’m guilty because I’m the coach and it means I have to work more on this aspect.

It’s important to understand that every single game is very tough and we mustn’t forget last season.

“We tried and played with intensity but you must play attention to details if you want to think about a good team”.

The Blues, who had to come from behind last weekend to secure a 2-2 draw with Swansea, seemed at least a step slow against the visitors throughout the first half on Friday, reports Efe.

As if that wasn’t enough deflection, Conte also pointed out that John Terry’s injury absence likely cost his team a point.
