Just look at the fact that this is his fourth team since 2014.

Just one day after his former team in the Detroit Tigers introduced starter Jordan Zimmerman, left-hander David Price came to an agreement with the Boston Red Sox on a seven-year, $217 million deal. The deal also has an opt out clause after three seasons, which could prevent it from being disastrous.

Price got $2 million more than Clayton Kershawn ($215 million), and last season with the Tigers and Blue Jays, he finished 2nd in the AL Cy Young voting. But the Red Sox knew they needed an ace, a dependable No. 1 starting pitcher.

He was drafted with the first overall pick by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2007.

The Boston Red Sox hired Dave Dombrowski as president of baseball operations to shake up the team and make changes. Statistically speaking, Price should be better off now.

Price was considered the top pitching target this offseason along with Zack Greinke, who spent last season with the Dodgers.

Dombrowski traded a package of prospects to San Diego for closer Craig Kimbrel last month. Twelve different pitchers started at least one game for the Red Sox in 2015. Acquiring Miley cost the Boston Red Sox Allen Webster and Rubby De La Rosa a year ago.
