Comedienne Tate was his assistant, Donna Noble.

For now though, we’re happy that one of the best Doctor/companion pairings in recent Doctor Who history are getting more stories to tell. And why has the Doctor never heard of Goritania?’

With rumours abounding that the only Doctor Who we’ll get in 2016 will be its Christmas Special (complete with regeneration), here’s something to fill the gap…

The duo will record Doctor Who – The Tenth Doctor Adventures for Big Finish, a British company which produces books and audio plays primarily from sci-fi favourites. It’s the same but different – it’s wonderful to have him back!’ No other actors for the series were announced other than the fact that Tennant will reprise his incarnation of the Doctor, and will be joined by Catherine Tate, returning to the role of Chiswick-temp-turned-savior-of-all-reality Donna Noble for the first time since her brief reappearance in the 2010 story “The End of Time”. Many fans would welcome his return to the show (full-time), although that looks very unlikely to happen any time soon… “I’m covered in bruises”. First up is Technophobia by Matt Fitton, “set in London slightly in the future, where mankind is gradually losing its ability to use everyday technology”. Could there be an evil force at work? Catch, hitch, fuel, fix, buy, pretty much any kind of transportation in existence.’ It’s also a world full of scoundrels, where a deadly black market has opened up in a device known only as the Time Reaver. Tennant’s return, if nothing else, should garner a few new interest in Big Finish’s audio adventure series. The pair have signed up to recreate their roles for audio in a series due for release in 2016. CD’s are also available, including a limited edition set that features exclusive artwork, photography and a documentary about the making of The Tenth Doctor Adventures.
