Before Friday’s game, the Pelicans listed Davis as doubtful to play. They rallied from a 34-point deficit in that one before losing to the Timberwolves 117-107. New Orleans has played Golden St twice, Portland, Atlanta and Dallas in what has turned out to be a ridiculously tough schedule.
It’s the only time this season the Mavericks will have to do this and coach Rick Carlisle is all right with that.

Hawks: Jeff Teague had 14 points and 10 assists, the 43rd points-assists double-double of his career. Joel Meyers had to do the broadcast by himself after David Wesley was forced out of action, and that was a ideal metaphor for this Pelicans season, and this game in particular. That ties him with Lenny Wilkens for third in franchise history…. Afflalo missed the first eight games with hamstring issues, but started and played 28 minutes.

The Mavericks will rest several players on the second night of back-to-back games.
