Atlanta’s Julio Teheren (now 6-6) couldn’t do much to stop Baltimore’s Chris Davis. Julio Teheran’s road woes continue as the Atlanta Braves fall 7-3 to the Baltimore Orioles Tuesday night. Jimenez (8-6) retired 18 of the final 20 batters he faced to end a run of three successive defeats.

The right-hander labored through a 92-pitch, four-inning night and fell to 1-5 on the road. Davis is a streaky hitter who can easily carry a team for a while if he gets on a roll.

Both starting pitchers struggled in a 36-minute first inning, but the Orioles came away with a 3-2 lead. Freeman’s hit was originally ruled a triple, but a crew-chief review overturned that call.
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said of the injury: “We don’t think it’s anything really serious”. Teheran had to throw 33 pitches to finish the frame. He hit 53 homers two years ago but hasn’t quite returned to that level since, and if he can light it up in the second half, it will help the Orioles. This one also went to right-center for a 5-2 Baltimore lead.
