Davis delivers another loss to Braves
Atlanta’s Julio Teheren (now 6-6) couldn’t do much to stop Baltimore’s Chris Davis. Freddie Freeman’s first homer since June 13 marked the offensive highlight for Atlanta, which has scored only 10 runs while dropping five of its past six contests.TV: 7:05 p.m. ET, SportSouth (Atlanta), MASN (Baltimore)PITCHING MATCHUP: Braves RH Mike Foltynewicz (3-2, 5.27 ERA) vs. Orioles RH Chris Tillman (7-7, 4.71)The Braves placed Manny Banuelos on the disabled list Tuesday, giving Foltynewicz another chance to jump into the big-league rotation. It was Davis’ 10th career multihomer game, the third this season.

“The first inning I was leading with my front shoulder a little bit”, Jimenez said.
Davis made it 5-2 in the second with his 24th homer after Adam Jones hit a two-out single.
He was scheduled to start Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles. “Very quietly he’s grinding out another solid year for us”.
Ubaldo Jimenez shook off a miserable start to pitch seven innings for the Orioles, who will seek to complete a three-game sweep on Wednesday night.
Julio Teheran’s road woes continue as the Atlanta Braves fall 7-3 to the Baltimore Orioles Tuesday night. Jimenez (8-6) retired 18 of the final 20 batters he faced to end a run of three successive defeats.
“I’ve got to get back to what I was doing. They told me about it in the dugout…and I was able to go and make an adjustment”. Teheran gave up three runs in the first. The right-hander labored through a 92-pitch, four-inning night and fell to 1-5 on the road. Davis is a streaky hitter who can easily carry a team for a while if he gets on a roll.
“I actually asked him about it today”. “He got me twice”. 500 (46-54).
Both starting pitchers struggled in a 36-minute first inning, but the Orioles came away with a 3-2 lead. Freeman’s hit was originally ruled a triple, but a crew-chief review overturned that call.
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said of the injury: “We don’t think it’s anything really serious”. Teheran had to throw 33 pitches to finish the frame. He hit 53 homers two years ago but hasn’t quite returned to that level since, and if he can light it up in the second half, it will help the Orioles. This one also went to right-center for a 5-2 Baltimore lead.

Ross Detwiler entered in the fifth and gave up an RBI single to Caleb Joseph.
